08 Jun THIS WEEK: DO ART
Creativity can be difficult to explain. It has a movement to it… it’s a process. It is very personal, emotional, and internal. But thanks to art, we are able to see, touch, and experience creativity. It lets us know that creativity exists. Whether it’s a painting, a sculpture, a performance, a photograph, etc., it is through art that we are able to experience someone else’s world. It is through art that we are able to learn about civilizations long past. And it is through art that we are able to express our own creativity. So, this week, we want you to DO ART. Maybe you have a favorite artist and you can try to replicate one of their pieces. Paint a Picasso or sculpt your own David. Or maybe you are a thespian and want to take your talents to the stage or in front of a camera. Even if you don’t think of yourself as an artist, maybe it’s time to take your first art class. See, there is really no excuse to not create art this week. Just let yourself go and let your creative juices flow. And, have some fun while doing it, because there is no such thing as “perfect” art. No performance pressure here. Art matters.
