16 Jan THIS WEEK: BEGIN WITH THE END
We love maps. We love them so much that they have had to evolve just to keep up with our need to see what’s around us and where we are going. From fold-up maps to Google Maps, maps have done their part to become even user-friendlier. They now even show us the quickest way to get from point A to point B and where to grab a coffee along the way. That’s pretty dang dialed in. However, if you think about it, maps only work because we have a destination in mind. Without a destination, there’s no need for a map. But isn’t that the same in life? It’s impossible to achieve a goal, if you don’t have one. So, let’s see if we can’t zero in on our personal 2017 destinations. This week, let’s BEGIN WITH THE END in mind and see what our maps tell us. What is a life goal that you are “destined” to achieve this year? Maybe it’s a long-term goal that will span over the 12 months. Or, maybe there are several shorter-term goals, either related to your long-term or to several distinct parts of your life. The point is that we can’t get there until we know where we want to go. And, if you are as good as the Waze map app, you might even find the quickest way to get there. Beginning with the end in mind matters.
