16 Mar THIS WEEK: Practice Peace
Our mental and emotional health is just as important as our physical health. With a higher prevalence of reported stress, depression, anxiety and even violence, our mental health is in a fragile state. With the increased use of technology, in order to make our lives easier and more productive, we now pack too much into our days. From the time we wake up to the time our head hits the pillow we are plugged in and amped up. It’s time for all of us to PRACTICE PEACE. Let’s first remember that we are human “beings,” not human “doings.” But let’s be honest about accepting the fact that we “do” more than we “be.” What would it feel like not have access to your phone, email, or social media for a week? Think you could do it? How about for even one day? Your answer most likely supports the argument that maybe you are in need of getting off the grid. So take time this week to slow your roll. Find a form of meditation that works for you. Go sit quietly in nature. Take a yoga class or journal or read a book. Can you feel your body slowing down already? We all need time to rest, recharge, and reset. Practicing peace matters.
