YOUTH MATTER
Youth and young people are intelligent, inventive, caring, kind, curious, resilient, and so much more. They deserve to be shown and know how much and why they matter. EMM's K-12 SEL-integrated curriculum provides you with meaningful opportunities for students to value themselves, celebrate others, and contribute to creating a safe and supportive space. Attendees will take a deep dive into EMM’s promising practices and be empowered to create mattering in their programs, classrooms, schools, and communities.
CREATING A SPACE THAT MATTERS
Each and every individual who works with youth and young people has the opportunity to make a positive impact every day. There are simple yet important things we do, intentionally and unintentionally, that create welcoming and supportive spaces. Attendees will be guided through co-creating a space for mattering and explore resources, tools, and practices to create a space for their students to thrive, together.
YOUR STORY MATTERS
Life is made up of moments. These moments create a story of your past, present, and future. These moments are our life's narratives - our stories. And, each one of us has one. Our experiences and connections to ourselves and others determine our story, but they don't define it. You do. Attendees will recognize and celebrate life's big moments, construct their future story, and inspire others to cultivate their own narratives. Attendees will be empowered to be the author of their story.
COMMUNITIES MATTER
Our communities are defined and thrive through our collective commitment to take care of them. Youth play an integral role in creating our communities. Service and service learning provides a pathway for youth to value and take ownership of where they live. Inspired by the National Youth Leadership Council’s evidence-based service learning model - IPARD, attendees will explore and create a plan to integrate empowering experiences for students to contribute their skills, abilities, and talents to show their communities how much it matters.
SEL & WELL-BEING FOR ADULTS
In recent years, we have come to understand the importance of social and emotional learning (SEL) for youth and young people and how vital it is their mental, social, and physical development. We have also come to learn that SEL development is just as important for adults. Attendees will connect to the five core SEL competencies plus growth mindset, engage in SEL-focused exercises, and craft routines that thoughtfully and intentionally foster their own well-being.
LIVING, TEACHING, & EMBRACING SEL
Better understanding social and emotional learning (SEL) is how we bring awareness to not just what we experience in life but how we experience it. We can create opportunities for students to better understand their social emotional learning and craft simple routines that become lifelong meaningful practices. Attendees will experience EMM’s integrated approach to the Collaborative for Academic, Social, and Emotional Learning’s (CASEL) core competencies and gain a greater awareness of how to integrate promising SEL practices in classrooms, programs, and community-wide.
KEYNOTE: YOU MATTER™
Have EMM founder and CEO, Matthew Emerzian, share his personal story and the inspiration behind founding Every Monday Matters. His work has been hailed by Oprah.com, The TODAY Show, Fast Company Magazine, Hallmark TV, Maria Shriver's Sunday Paper, and several other media outlets. The author of four best-selling books, Emerzian has spent the past 15 years traveling the country and sharing his unique story and insight on finding purpose. His life-changing message focuses on sustained personal and social change that happens by stepping outside of ourselves. Attendees will engage in a highly interactive keynote that will leave them transformed and with a new appreciation for how much they matter.
Learning Matters
EMM workshops, trainings, and keynotes are adaptable for organization, school, district-wide, and events of any size. Fees are based on duration, number of attendees, and delivery format (in-person or virtual.)
