MAKING IT EASIER FOR YOu

Every week new activities will be posted for you to do with your child/children.  I Matter activities, You Matter activities, and a We Matter activities focus on a central theme that builds social and emotional learning. More details about the activities’ structure can be found at the PDF link in “Step 1.”

WEEK 1:

WALK IN THEIR SHOES

Walking in someone else’s shoes teaches us empathy. It provides us a chance to get present and be open-minded to other people, cultures, and stories. Let’s go for a walk in someone else’s shoes and see what we learn.

WEEK 2:

FLIP THE SCRIPT

We are all experiencing a new normal right now and it is easy to get down or to struggle with the challenges it brings. But life always presents obstacles and challenges, we can’t control that. However, we can control how we react to it. Hope and positivity matter.

WEEK 3:

GET BACK UP

At some point in life, we all get knocked down, but this doesn’t mean we stay there. This week we are going to push through the concrete, share some gratitude for those who deserve it, and write our own song or poem to get other people empowered. Let’s do this.

WEEK 4:

BE A NEWBIE

When is the last time you were new at something? Even when we know we might not be so great at something because it is our first time trying, we should never stop being curious. Let’s honor our own sense of wonder and the talents of others. Being a newbie, matters.

WEEK 5:

LEND A HAND

In times like this, we need to take even better care of ourselves and one another. We can do amazing things when we lend a hand, and there are so many creative ways we can help. So, let’s explore those ways and make a difference together.

WEEK 6:

GET YOUR MOVE ON

Even though we’ve had to be at home quite a bit lately, it doesn’t mean we can’t be active and have a ton of fun. So start stretching your body and your mind, because this week we are going to be movin’… and so will our friends and family members.

WEEK 7:

MAKE MAGIC

There is something pretty special about magic. Of course, there is the kind of magic that tricks us and leaves us in disbelief, but there is also the magic that we create together to produce more joy and connectedness. Get ready to create some magic moments. It’s going to be awesome.

WEEK 8:

OWN YOUR AWESOMENESS

If you really think about it, there can never be enough awesomeness in the world. Each of us is awesome in our own ways, and there are awesome people and things all around us. So let’s celebrate it… because we should.
