THIS WEEK: SUPPORT SUSTAINABILITY

We live in an instant gratification culture. We love microwaves, faster Internet, and same-day delivery. In other words, our typical focus is on the next few minutes, and not on next year, or ten years from now. When it comes to our environment, this way […]

THIS WEEK: BE WATER WISE

This might be hard to believe, but did you know that nearly 800 million people in the world do not have access to clean drinking water? Just as bad, over 2.5 billion people or 35% of the world’s population live without access to modern sanitation. […]

THIS WEEK: GROW YOUR KNOWLEDGE

We have all heard the saying, “Knowledge is power.” The more we know, the more informed we are, and the better equipped we are to make wise decisions. But then there’s this saying, “Ignorance is bliss.” And, frankly, sometimes, not being in the know, can […]

THIS WEEK: FLIP THE SWITCH

Sometimes it is really easy to connect the dots on things. It’s that whole “1 + 2 = 3” thing. Or it’s the cause and effect thing… “If this, then that.” Easy, right? However, sometimes making those connections, for some reason, is not so easy. […]

THIS WEEK: BREATHE IT IN

It is really easy to take things for granted in life. We do it with friendships. We do it with our health. And, yes, we do it with the environment. Think about it for a second… how much time do you spend thinking about the […]

THIS MONTH: MONDAY GETS GREEN

We live in a world that is full of debates. One side verses the other, both with differing and compelling arguments tied to their opinions and sources of facts. Some debates are non-consequential and might even be fun-spirited, while others carry more impact. And, when it comes to the environment, we think this is just that—a monumental, huge, massive debate with profound significance. Is global warming real or not? Are greenhouse gases increasing our temperatures and changing our weather patterns? Are coral reefs really dying and why does it matter if they do? Don’t all living things adapt? And even though 97% of the scientific studies show that there is an abundance of evidence of global warming resulting from our own actions, the debate continues. So, this month, we are going to take a different angle on this debate. Why? Because we don’t think this is a scientific issue, rather we think it is a human issue and that the facts point to our many poor choices and actions. So, let’s ask some bigger questions such as: Does anyone think that throwing a plastic bottle in the ocean is a good thing? Then why don’t we recycle all of them? Does anyone think that wasting water is a good thing? Then why do we waste even a drop of it? The environment doesn’t ruin itself, we do. So, this month, let’s focus our debate on what more we can do to take responsibility for our choices, because it’s time to show Mother Nature a lot more love. Being green matters.

THIS WEEK: GO WILD

Have you ever seen a tiger or a snow leopard? What about an orangutan, a gorilla, an elephant, a panda, a sea otter, a rhinoceros, or a blue whale? No, we are not talking about on TV or on YouTube. We aren’t even talking about […]

THIS WEEK: DIG IN

Ever wonder where jalapenos come from? Ever seen how Brussels sprouts or celery grow? The truth is that most of us haven’t, because we can just get them from the grocery store or Farmer’s Market. It’s that easy. And, if they have that “Organic” sticker […]

THIS WEEK: DIVIDE BY TWO

We are perplexed. How is it that every year over 700 million people in the world are chronically malnourished, yet one-third of all the food produced in the world is lost or wasted? How is it that we are using our planet’s natural resources at […]

THIS WEEK: LEAVE IT CLEANER

We have a problem. A big, and yet silent one. It happens slowly, in small increments, hardly noticed until it builds up to a crescendo. It’s called “Litter.” Here are a few “not-so-fun” proof points for you. Did you know that 75% of people have […]
