It’s the start of a new year. Time to work out, commit to more time with friends, start a hobby, or maybe even, get a new job. Our lists of New Year’s resolutions tend to be long and, typically, not set up for tons of success. So many resolutions, so little time in the day… or year, for that matter. But we want you to add one more resolution to your list. We know… so demanding of us. But the good news is that this resolution doesn’t require you to dedicate chunks of your time to it. You can do this one throughout your entire day, while doing whatever else you are doing, because it happens in your mind. It’s a choice. We want you to decide to make being optimistic a major theme in your life. Why? Because optimism encompasses three concepts that we love. Firstly, it shows that we believe there is a future. Secondly, it celebrates the fact that things can always get better. Thirdly, it puts us in a place of power because just by choosing to be optimistic, we are already living it. As Winston Churchill once said, “The pessimist sees difficulty in every opportunity. The optimist sees the opportunity in every difficulty.” Everything we create in our lives starts with our thoughts and attitudes. So let’s choose to look forward to the future and positively live our lives accordingly. Being optimistic matters.
