THIS WEEK: BE A BOUNCER

Are you a “Bouncer”? No, not someone who works as a security guard or is responsible for “bouncing” out unruly customers. We mean, a real “Bouncer.” Like someone who bounces back easily. Or are you a “Wallower”? Someone that likes to hang out in the muddiness of stuff and would rather embrace your inner-victim? Our hope is you’re the Bouncer-type. But even if you’re not, this week we want you to BE A BOUNCER. Life is awesome, but it can also be a little messy. Even with all of our dreams and desires to live a fulfilling, happy, and pain-free life, it doesn’t always go that way. There is the simple stuff, like parking tickets, a rude comment from someone, or a leaky faucet. And, then there are the more challenging ones, like being let go by your employer, losing a friend or family member, or getting bad news about your health. Whether we want to accept it or not, any and all of these things will happen during our lifetime. Unfortunately, no one is 100% immune. So, we are all left with a choice. Will I be a Bouncer or a Wallower? We can’t control everything that happens to us, but we can control how we respond. Feeling our emotions and acknowledging life’s great challenges is important, but so is what comes next. Bouncing back matters.
