There is a popular quote that begins, “Courage is not the absence of fear, but the…” The interesting thing about this quote is that several people claim it to be theirs and there are several different endings to it. But the common message of each version is that courage cannot exist without fear. Read a different way this means that we have to put ourselves in places of fear in order to be courageous.  Yikes. You guessed it… this week we want you to BE COURAGEOUS. We all have at least one fear. Some of us have had the same fears for our entire life. Spiders might fall into this category. Or sharks or flying or public speaking. Then there are those fears that pop up every now and again, depending on what we are doing and where we are in life. Turning in your resume for a new, more challenging position at work, asking that person out on a date, or signing up to run a marathon. Frankly, we don’t care if it is life-long fear or something that happened yesterday, we just want you to be courageous. It’s time to face your fears and make it happen. We know you can do it. Being courageous matters.
