THIS WEEK: CHOOSE YOUR WORDS

The research on this certainly varies a bit, but the average person speaks anywhere from 7,000 to 20,000 words per day. Even if we played it super safe and just went with 5,000 words per day that is plenty for us to make our case here. These are 5,000 opportunities for us to impact those around us and ourselves, either positively or negatively, giving us thousands of choices to make each and every day. So this week, we want you to CHOOSE YOUR WORDS. Words are powerful. Whether we speak them, write them, type them, text them, or even think them, words can lift people up, tear people down, encourage actions, inspire love, or destroy relationships. Words are so potent that sometimes the words we don’t speak or share have just as much meaning as the ones we do. So what words do you choose? Are they life giving, factual, kind, compassionate, and supportive? Or do you prefer the opposite? We think it’s time for all of us to reclaim the meaning and the impact of words, because we have all recently witnessed the destructive nature they can have. Let’s take a moment to think about what we’d like to say and to anticipate how those words might impact and influence others. Let’s start valuing and appreciating one another more and use words that show we care. These choices matter. Choosing your words matters.
