At first glance, this week might seem a little counter-intuitive to the idea of being mindful. After all, so much of being mindful is about being aware of the present moment. And, we agree 100% that living in the present is the only way to live, for we can’t change the past, and we can’t predict the future. But this doesn’t mean we should not acknowledge the past or pretend like the future doesn’t exist. So this week, let’s take a moment to look back and HONOR HISTORY. Have you ever taken the time to really appreciate everything that came before you? Sure you might know your mom and dad’s story, but what about their parent’s story? And, what about the generations that came before them? What was their life like? What were their challenges and what brought them joy? Where was science and technology during their lifetime and what did travel look like? And, maybe most importantly, what are some key life lessons that we can learn from it all? Generations past may not have had a lot of what we have now, but they also had a lot of stuff we could use more of now. Let’s try connecting with our history in order to be better people for those who will follow next in our footsteps and the footsteps of those who follow them. Honoring history matters.
