How many miles do you have on your car’s odometer? Actually, what are the most miles you ever put on a car before you got rid of it? Ever break 100,000 miles? 200,000? Or, think of this… how many calls and text messages did you make and receive on your cell phone before you got rid of it? Could you have made and gotten a lot more before getting that “next” new phone? Would it shock you to know that there are more cell phones in the U.S. than there are people? And, that Americans scrap 11.5 million vehicles in an average year? It’s true… and we think it’s time for this trend to stop. So, this week, we want you to KEEP IT LONGER. Be honest. Are you someone who always needs the latest and greatest? We totally understand why… because getting new, bright shiny objects is fun. It feels good… it’s that simple. However, our planet is paying a steep price for this “fun.” It’s easy to dismiss our individual roles in this problem. What’s just one phone? Or one car? Well, it’s a lot. Just think; what if each of us kept our new phone for twice as long. You got it… we just cut the number of new phones in half. Boom. That easy. So, really own this one. And we mean, keep owning it. Keeping it longer matters.
