THIS WEEK: MOVE YOUR BODY

These days, the average person sleeps about seven and a half hours per night and sits for nine and a half hours per day. Combined, that’s around seventeen hours of non-activity. You may or may not think that’s so bad, after all, you need your sleep, and work and school often requires sitting. But it’s actually not a good thing. And then knowing that the average person still has six and a half hours of non-sitting and non-sleeping time left in their day, doesn’t really guarantee that much of that time is dedicated to moving much either. Well, not to judge you, but in some ways… to judge all of us… the jury is in. Not moving is not good. Not moving our bodies is one of the worst things we can do for our health. The list of negative effects is both a long and scary one. So, this week, it’s time to MOVE YOUR BODY. The good news is that the list of positive effects of exercise is way longer and pretty dang motivating. So, what’s it going to be? A walk in the park? A jog or a swim? Dancing or yoga? You don’t have to go run a marathon tomorrow… that can come later. For now, just dive into doing more activity than you do today. Then, for sure, you’ll be moving in the right direction. Moving your body matters.
