THIS WEEK: STAND TALL

You are a bipod. Ever been called that before? Well, if you haven’t, don’t worry. It’s not a bad thing. It means that you have a 2-legged support system. And, this system is no joke. In fact, it most likely took 5 years for you to really get it mastered. But now you can do it all… you can stand, walk, run, hop, skip, and jump. Pretty impressive. Actually putting 5 years of work into anything is a significant commitment and achievement. So much so, that it makes it even crazier to think that we would stop doing something we worked that hard on to accomplish. Well, not anymore. This week is all about STANDING TALL. Unfortunately, we have become sitters, which only took us about 6-9 months to learn. We sit in cars or buses, we sit at our desks, we sit when we eat, we sit and watch television, we sit and play video games. We sit. And, then we sit some more. But sitting, it turns out, is actually pretty unhealthy for us. So much so, that many believe that sitting is one of the core causes of heart disease, diabetes, obesity, cancer, and depression. Yuck. So, that’s enough of that. It’s time to get up and stand tall… then do it again. We’ll be a lot healthier for it. Standing tall really does matter.
