The idea of leaving a legacy has an interesting way of placing it, almost as if an event, as something that happens sometime in the far distant future. In other words, we don’t need to worry about our legacy today. But this couldn’t be further from the truth, because we create our legacy each and every day… starting now. Architects create structural legacies, like the Eiffel Tower. Artists create creative legacies, like the Mona Lisa. These legacies took time. They didn’t happen overnight. So what about you? What is your legacy going to be? If you haven’t thought much about it, then is week is perfect for you. It’s time to START A LEGACY. To achieve this, it is often easiest to start with the end in mind. In other words, how do you want to be remembered? To put it in a more positive and hopeful light, if you were to ask anyone who knows you well to choose ten words to describe you, what do you hope they would say? Do you have a pretty clear idea? Perfect, now commit the rest of your life to being that person. If you hope they say, “creative,” then go create something tangible that will last forever. If you hope they say, “kind,” then do something kind for someone every day. You are already on your way. Enjoy the journey. Starting a legacy matters.
