Sometimes it can be difficult to focus on what we need to do. To begin with, we often have too many things on our list to accomplish on any given day or week or even month. And whether we want to accept it or not, multi-tasking is actually not the most efficient or effective way to operate. Sorry multi-taskers, but it’s true. However, when it comes to something that stresses us out, worries us, saddens us, or feels like a setback, we suddenly become laser focused and can’t seem to let it go. It’s in these moments we should actually do just the opposite, so this week, we want you to WIDEN YOUR VISION. When we are struggling through something difficult, it is often challenging to remember that we still have a lot of other things going on in our life and in our world. We lose sight of the forest and simply focus on one single tree. Squeezing this tightly, especially on something negative, sad, or challenging is exhausting. It affects us emotionally, physically, mentally, and even relationally. The healthier choice for us is to step back, see the bigger picture, and be more mindful of the positives. Maybe there is a life-changing lesson to learn, maybe there is a silver lining, maybe this is just a season that shall pass. Yes, let’s feel what we need to feel, but also do what we need to do to bounce back… oftentimes, better off for it. This is how we become resilient. Widening your vision matters.
